Deceased veterans identified

12.01.2011 The identities of the men who died at the “Soldier On” veterans shelter in Leeds, this week, are Richard Palaza, 57, and Ricardo Garcia-Cardona, 34.
Palaza was pronounced dead on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 p.m.
Garcia-Cardona was pronounced dead on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8:25 a.m.
Next-of-kin to both men have been notified.
Northampton police and Massachusetts State Police connected to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances of the death, although no foul play is indicated at this time.
The causes of death will not be conclusively known until autopsies and toxicology examinations are performed.
