No foul play suspected in deaths of two "Soldier On" residents
The Northampton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office are jointly investigating the deaths of two male residents of the Solider On shelter at the V.A. Medical Center in Leeds. The first death was reported at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, and the second at 8:20 a.m. today. The causes of death will not be conclusively known until autopsies and toxicology examinations are performed, but the deaths were non-violent in nature and no foul play is suspected.
Solider On is a not-for-profit organization that provides support and services to homeless Veterans and Veterans at risk for homelessness, and is located in a building that the program leases from the federal government at the V.A. Medical Center.
