NWDA opposes accused arsonist Anthony Baye's pre-trial appeal to suppress evidence
Date:
09.08.2011 In a court filing submitted Sept. 7, 2011 , NWDA Special Prosecutor Brett Vottero argues against defendant Anthony Baye's pretrial appeal to suppress evidence.
"The normal appelaate process will protect the defendant's rights, "Vottero said of the "interlocutory," or pretrial appeal. "The administration of justice does not require this appeal before a trial."
Baye faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degere murder in connection with a series of fires set in Northampton on Dec. 27, 2009. A father and son died in a fire at 17 Fair St.
Testimony in the case is expected to begin on Sept. 26
