Summer 2019 interns
The Office of the Northwestern District Attorney, in partnership with the communities we serve, is dedicated to the pursuit of truth, justice, and the protection of the public through fair and effective prosecutions and progressive prevention initiatives.
We are pleased to offer summer and academic year internships to college and law students in the following areas:
- Child Abuse
- Consumer Protection
- Domestic Violence
- Outreach & Education
- Victim/Witness Services

Law students selected to participate in the Northwestern District Attorney's Office Legal Internship Program assist prosecutors in the Juvenile, District, Superior, and Appellate courts.
First year law students gain experience in legal research, writing, and case preparation.
We encourage law students who have completed their second year of law school, who have been certified under SJC Rule 3:03 to apply as they may represent the Commonwealth in Juvenile and District Court as a student prosecutor, supervised by an assistant district attorney.
Interns in the Consumer Protection Unit are directly involved in consumer casework. This consists of fielding consumer calls, assessing problems, conveying information, sending correspondence, referring consumers to other agencies, and working on special projects as they may arise. Interns may also mediate cases between businesses and consumers. Eligible candidates for an internship must have the ability to keep accurate administrative records as well as the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality in regards to consumer information. In general, the hours of the Consumer Protection Unit internship coincide with the general hours of the District Attorney’s Office which are 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday. We are looking for a commitment of at least 20 hours a week.
