Northampton woman arraigned in connection with incident on bus ***updated***

Brietta A. Brown, 26, of Northampton, was arraigned in the Eastern Hampshire District Court yesterday, May 3, 2018, on two counts of Attempted Murder, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Disturbing the Peace.  

These charges relate to an incident that is alleged to have occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on May 2 on a PVTA bus in Hadley. 

Brown is alleged to have attacked two individuals on the bus with a knife. At her arraignment, she was ordered held without right to bail pending a dangerousness hearing. 

Brown appeared in court again today, May 4, after which she was committed to a mental health facility until May 23, when she is due back in court for the dangerousness hearing.
