Easthampton man arrested in Northampton incident

Thursday evening, Sept. 3, 2020, Northampton Police responded to the area of 1095 Florence Road in Northampton in response to reports of a female pedestrian having been struck by a motor vehicle.  

Police located the 26-year-old female who had been struck. She  was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Police also located the suspected driver of the vehicle.  

The vehicle involved in the incident was also located and secured, and had front-end damage including a shattered windshield.  

As a result of the investigation into this incident, police arrested Joseph C. Adams, 30, of Easthampton, on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle), leaving the scene of personal injury, and misleading a criminal investigation.  He was held on $10,000 cash bail, and is scheduled for arraignment this morning in the Northampton District Court on Friday, Sept.  4, 2020.

Massachusetts State Police and the Easthampton Police also assisted with the investigation into this incident.​
